Phish Food

My favorite ice cream is Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food and this year it turned 10!  Now, in this fabulous ice cream, it has little fudge fishes but with this anniversary Phish Food, it also has fudge cows!  I always hoped I would find the day when cows and fish could live together in the same place in harmony.  And now they do.  Also in this delicious ice cream is fudge swirls, marshmallow fluff stuff and yummy chocolate ice cream.

Also, while I am on the topic of ice cream.  I must also say that I enjoy Cold Stone ice cream as well.   I like to get chocolate ice cream with fudge, brownie bites and some times I like to add chocolate chips.

I love chocolate — what can I say?

Before I end, a shout out to Ben and Jerry’s new flavor, Americone Dream.  I haven’t tried it yet, but it is the flavor of the greatest living American.  Enjoy it, if you can find it.   (That last link is for my husband and other weirdo SEO people…)

True Hero

“A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but the strength of his heart.” - Zeus in Disney’s Hercules.

I think Disney movies are great — especially animated Disney movies.  For Valentines Day, my husband let me join the Disney Movie Club so I could buy all the Disney movies I could find.  It is really wonderful.  The club has tons of movies that you aren’t going to find anywhere else, like The Brave Little Toaster, and Duck Tales the Movie.

The thing about Disney movies that is just great is that there is always such a wonderful message that you can learn from them.  For instance in Hercules we learn this great lesson about heros and what really makes a true hero.

I think we all could learn to be a little more of a hero and think a little bit more about others.

Sweet Dreams

Filed Under (me) by katie on 17-04-2007

So I think that I dream way too much.  Or at least that I remember way too many of my dreams.  Last night I had so many dreams and woke up so many times that I don’t really think that I slept much.  Around 4:30, I just wanted the night to end so much that I didn’t want to go back to sleep.  Anyway.  Another interesting thing about my dreams is the content of them.  Bryan tells me that my dreams are much weirder than his ever have been.  So this afternoon, I looked up why we dream and why we dream about what we do.  Here are some things: (from coolquiz.com, I know it’s not the most reliable source but interesting information none the less)

Psychological theorists of dreams focus upon our thoughts and emotions, and speculate that dreams deal with immediate concerns in our lives, such as unfinished business from the day, or concerns we are incapable of handling during the course of the day. Dreams can, in fact, teach us things about ourselves that we are unaware of.

The physiological theory centers upon how our body, specifically our brains, function during the REM phase of sleep. Proponents of this theory believe that we dream to exercise the synapses, or pathways, between brain cells, and that dreaming takes over where the active and awake brain leaves off. When awake, our brains constantly transmit and receive messages, which course through our billions of brain cells to their appropriate destinations, and keep our bodies in perpetual motion. Dreams replace this function.

I hope you have great dreams!

BanThat

Filed Under (things i love) by katie on 16-04-2007

I found this really cool Web site the other day (with the help of my hubby). It’s called banthat.com. In this site you can write down whatever you would like to ban, or if someone has banned something that you don’t think should be banned you can reply and say why you are against the ban. While in the site, if you want to view everything that has been banned, just click on all things banned and the words that are larger are things more people have banned.

It’s kind of a fun little site, a little bit of a time waster, but we all need some of that now and then. Besides, sometimes its a great way to vent.
