Itchy Anyone?

TideI am allergic to a lot of strange things. When I was younger, I didn’t have any allergies. But since the summer of 2004, I have discovered more allergies than I ever could images I could have. The way I found out about my allergies was always bizarre too. My first experience was with Tide the laundry detergent. I was working at the time at Target as a cashier. One day while I was helping a customer checkout, they had a box of powder tide. As I passed the box across the scanner it slipped out of my hand and POOF, Tide everywhere — in the air, on the scanner, on the floor, on my clothes — everywhere. At the time I didn’t think much about it, except my arms were a little bit itchy. I cleaned up the tide around my lane and went to the bathroom to wash my arms. Finished work that day and went home. The next morning, I woke up and my legs were itching like crazy. I looked down at them and realized my legs were completely covered in hives the size of pieces of bread (and probably raised off my legs that think too). They were huge and horribly itchy. My mom promptly took me to the InstaCare where I had my first experience with ephinephrine (at least I think that it what they gave me). It was horrible and I never want to have to have that again. For the next 3 days, we couldn’t get the hives to go away and I will miserable. The only thing we could link it to, was the tide. Since that one experience I have had so many strange unexplainable allergy experiences. And today I had another one. I was just sitting at work and began to get more and more itchy as the day went on. Then came the hives. They weren’t too bad today, but you could see them. Right after I got the things done that I needed to and knew I had my 40 hours I came home and took some Benadryl (it always works amazing miracles). It basically wipes me out though. I slept through most of the Jazz game this evening. Good thing they won. Stay tuned for my weird eye allergy story.

An Accident Waiting to Happen

My sad legI am an accident waiting to happen. I am so clumsy; I run into things constantly and this week was no different than normal.

Sometimes, just to be a little silly, I run and jump on Bryan expecting him to catch me (not always smart) and this sometimes leads to pain.

Earlier this week (on Tuesday), Bryan and I were talking in the kitchen. He was sitting on our bench next to our My Yucky Bruisetable and I decided to run and jump on him, while he was sitting on the bench. I backed up almost to the fridge and started toward him. I jumped up and … … most of me made the jump. Just not my leg. I slammed just below my knee into the bench and these pictures are what happened (please excuse the blinding white/non-shaved leg):

Now, you have to know I took this pictures Friday afternoon, so it had been quite a few days since the accident. Right after I hit the bench, I looked at my leg and it was already bruising. Wednesday, when I woke up, the bruise was way uglier and had a strange white center (my friend Andrea said that was a bad sign with bruises). Next time, I’ll have to watch out for stationary objects.

Always Growing

This last week, I finished “The Book of Mormon” again. I love to read The Book of Mormon because everytime I read it I learn something new. And everytime I read it, my testimony of the truth of it grows. I don’t think it will matter how many times I read it during my life, everytime I will learn something new and everytime my testimony grows.

As I have read The Book of Mormon, it always seems that when I get to the Book of Moroni, I read the whole book all in one sitting (it’s not that big, so it’s not too hard). And the Spirit that I feel as I read Moroni’s last words to us is always so strong. It’s amazing.

This time as I read through Moroni’s words I was reminded that the Lord does have a plan for me. Through our faith and as we continue to follow the plan he has set, He will guide us to do what He wants us to do.

It’s good to be reminded sometimes.

Here it is

Okay, so I was looking into digital scrapbooking on the internet and I found this site that is devoted to it. So I was looking around and seeing how people did it and what it was all about, and they said to use a photo editing program. I wanted to do it right, so I blindly followed without thinking and it turns out that my computer is getting just old enough that it can’t quite handle Photoshop anymore. It continually shuts the program down (I think I need more RAM) So this whole week I have been frustrated and thinking that I wouldn’t make it to my goal of San Fran 1having something up here by tomorrow. Then, this morning as I was getting ready for Church, I realized: “It’s just photos and thing on top of each other. I can use InDesign (it is my program of choice after all).” I told Bryan my brilliant idea and he looked at me and said, “I thought that’s the program you were going to use anyway.” Duh. Why would I pick to use any other program to lay stuff out, besides my favorite layout program. I LOVE INDESIGN! (really, I love the whole creative suite)

So, although it took me so long to figure out what I was actually doing, I did get one page done. Here you go. Enjoy! (Keri, we will have to chat sometime about scrapbooking because I would love to do physical scrapbooking too.)
