Yesterday we celebrated my Great Grandma Afton Bullock’s 95th Birthday. She is my mom’s dad’s mom and she is wonderful. So we gathered at the discovery park in Pleasant Grove to wish her a happy birthday and enjoy being together as a family. It was a VERY cold day to be partying at the park, but it was still fun. We had ice cream and cake and were able to convince Grandma to let us take pictures with her. (She does NOT like to have her picture taken.) None of us were quite prepared for how cold it really was outside yesterday and ended up wraping in blankets and whatever else we could find in our cars. Here are some fun pictures from the day.

I have so many wonderful memories with my grandma. Here are just a few…
When my family was younger we lived in North Orem and my Grandma Bullock lived just North of Center Street in Orem so we were able to go and visit her quite often. Melanie and I would often go over to my grandma’s and spend the night. It was always so much fun to sleep over with Grandma. She would let us sleep in her front bedroom with the big double bed. It was the bedroom that she normally slept in when we weren’t there, so it had all her jewlery and clothes and wigs in there. I always remember that she wore beautiful pins and clip on earrings that sparkled and shined.
When we woke up in the morning she would be in the kitchen getting things ready for us and she wouldn’t be wearing her wig and it always surprised me. After we got up and ready to go, Grandma would take us to Shoney’s for breakfast! Then we’d go home and watch a couple of grandma’s soap operas before she would drive us back to our house.
Sometimes when we’d stay over, we’d go with her on her morning walk. Down around the corner around the church parking lot and home (I’m pretty sure that when we weren’t with her she would walk longer). She walked everyday. I remember once hearing about while she was out on her walk, she was hit by a hit and run biker. He ran her over with his bike and then just drove away. It broke her nose. Shortly after that, we wen’t to see her and when she would breath out of her nose it would wistle. It made her crazy.
I also remember that she would always keep her cookies in her oven. She told us that she never used it to cook, so she might as well keep something useful in there. So whenever she would get us a treat, she would pull a thing of cookies out of her over to share with us.
There are so many little things I remember so well about spending time with grandma and I’m so glad that I had that opportunity and will cherish those memories forever.
So to my Walker Fam: what are the things you remember about Grandma Bullock’s 95 wonderful years?

Well I remember all of those things, but one thing that remember was always going over to her house on Halloween! It was always so much fun. She would always have candy for us and we would just sit with her and talk for a while.
I remember when we would go over Grandma would always be watching some sort of sports on tv. My favorite was going over and watching the jazz games with her on the nights that we would spend the night. I also loved the bowl of chocolate that she always had on her counter. I loved going over to spend the night with grandma and just to visit.
Sounds like she is an amazing woman. Is that your cousin named Kari? Does she say like mine or Keri?
