More October Fun!

So October is my birth month.  But this year was a great year for my birthday.  In the morning, I got up to get ready to go to work.  I jumped in the shower and Bryan climbed out of bed to get the whites out of the dryer (we forgot until 10 the night before that it was NECESSARY that whites be washed before the next day).  So I finished getting ready, by time I was ready to go down stairs Bryan had already gone to take Teddy out.  I walked out of the bedroom a little confused that he would leave the light on in the hallway, when suddenly, I looked into the office (illuminated by the light from the hall) and there on the computer desk was a beautiful sight:

Yes, my very own iMac!  I stopped in my tracks and yelled down the stairs, “What did you do?!?”  Bryan laughed and replied that I reacted very strangely the surprises.  (I absolutely LOVE surprises, but I guess I do act kind of weird, like when Bryan proposed to me, I was very surprised. I knew it was coming but didn’t know it was coming then, so when he got down on one knee with a little box, the only thing I could say was, “What are you doing? What are you doing? Get up? What are you doing?” Sooo romantic, I know.)  So then he came up and told me happy birthday and gave me a kiss.  And I LOVE my iMac.  We got all my neato skeeto design programs on it and got it all set up, and bought a new desk to go with it (pictures of the new desk to come later, because we totally rearranged our office) and I just love it.  It is a wonderful present.

I was also dearly blessed to get some wonderful presents from my family as well.  Bryan’s mom (who normally just gives money, but I’m a present type of girl so this year to make me happy she went shopping with Bryan and got me presents) bought me two movies I really wanted (The Office Season 4 and Sleeping Beauty) and a book by Gerald Lund (Hearing the Voice of the Lord).  Kevin got me a heatable pillow and a coco mug (I DO LOVE CUPS). Lindsay and Jon gave me Starbursts and another movie (Fool’s Gold - I do love movies and would much rather own them then rent them, you never know when at 4 in the morning you won’t be able to sleep and need to watch a movie).  My parents and sister got me a new game (In a Pickle — it is an awesome game.  If you like card games and you like words and you like to argue a bit, then you will LOVE this game), new perfume and another book (The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands. My dad said it was more for Bryan… : ))

Anyway it was so much fun.  I love birthdays.  Anyone’s birthday not just mine. I love to celebrate “one year older and wiser too.”  Because it is so true.  I love to celebrate that we are here, and that we are alive.

So next time you celebrate a birthday, sing the birthday song quickly. Remember it’s a celebration, not a death march.

Thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday and for all your love and kindness!

Happy (belated) Birthday! It sounds like an amazing birthday. I was just reading through past entries and saw your Monsters, Inc. post. Last night I was reading through Darin’s neice’s blog about the Simpsons theme in her department and how the design team won with their Monsters, Inc. theme. I put my deductive reasoning powers to work to realize that you must work together! Guess who it is?
