On this day…

In: me

7 Apr 2009

two years ago: Something pretty big happened in my life. Something that changed my life and was something that I was looking forward to, and wanted so badly.  But today, I didn’t even think about it.  When I went to bed last night, I didn’t have a hard time sleeping, knowing that today was an anniversary of such an exciting day.  This morning, when I woke up, I didn’t think of anything that I would do that would be extra fun to celebrate this anniversary. I didn’t even remember that this day was important at all.

You know who did remember though?  My Grandpa Walker.

He is amazing.  He has 9 kids and quite a number of grandkids, great grandkids and spouses of grandkids, but today, he remembered my exciting day and called me. (And he ALWAYS calls on my birthday, Bryan on his birthday… any special or important day. I can always count on him remembering and calling to wish me a happy day and tell me that he loves me.  Grandpa, if you ever read this, I want you to know how much I love you and how much it means to me that you always remember the special and important days in my life… even if I don’t.)

He asked if I knew what happened on this day two years, ago.. and I thought, and thought.  April 7… April 7… April 7, 2007…

OH!  I graduated!

Graduation!

(That’s my wonderful Grandma and Grandpa Walker in the picture on the left of Bryan.) So it seems weird that it’s been two years.  I’m so grateful for the experience that I had at BYU-Idaho and that I was able to attend and graduate.  I would go back and do it again in a heartbeat (I can’t say I’d go back and do high school over again, but I would FOR SURE do college over again, it was FABULOUS!).  So I am going to celebrate.  I think I deserve some Phish Food.  :)

I’d repeat college again too! I wouldn’t relish all the homework, but my BYU-Idaho days hold some of my happiest memories! And grandparents are the best! Congrats on your two-year anniversary!

I’ve been thinking about this all day too! That is so sweet of your grandpa to remember. I cannot believe it was two years ago!

I do believe Phish Food is the most appropriate way to celebrate any occasion or anniversary. Enjoy and congrats.

What a great grandpa! That is fantastic! :) I’m gonna look up my graduation anniversary and celebrate too. I think Phish Food is always a good idea.

Your grandpa has an amazing memory, I can barely remember what day it is sometimes! Quite the accomplishment on graduating!

That is cool. I have no idea what day I graduated. It obviously was a very important day for me.
